DOG CLASS
TESTIMONIALS
Highly Recommend!
I first met Joe in January of 2009. He was no doubt an answer to my prayer, as we had a yellow Lab pup that was getting out of control. . .and quick too. We were desperate.
Einey (Einstein) was chewing everything within sight, including furniture, shoes, toys, you name it. He was also somewhat aggressive in his playing and would bite our 2-year-old grandson and us also. He likes to mess on the floor too. Einey was so quick that you could not catch him until after the fact. My methods of training and correction were not working.
Joe worked with Einey for about four days, an hour each day, and in no time he had Einey retrained to not do those destructive things. He taught us how to keep Einey from going back to old habits. He stopped biting, he chewed only on objects that were his, and he learned to go outside.
As Einey got older, (5 months) he decided he like to chase cars, and knock people down by jumping on them. On one occasion, Einey was hit by a pickup truck. Fortunately, he was not seriously injured. We again asked Joe for help, and he spent another 4 days with Einey, and now he no longer chases cars or trucks, and he respects people by not jumping on them. If it had not been for Joe, our Einey would be living somewhere else. Joe helped us out twice with two very difficult and serious sets of problems.
Joe Blankenship is very talented, and knows animal behavior very well. He can modify the behavior of your dog or pet. I would highly recommend him.
Labs are a lot of dog to deal with. If you need help, Joe is the guy that can do it.

“When our Labradoodle was about 6 months old we realized we were losing control fast; nipping at the kids, pulling us along for walks, jumping and even a barking habit was starting. We called Joe for help and after our first lesson I felt such relief that there was an easy solution for all the behaviors we wanted to correct. He gave us clear and easy methods to train Louie to be the dog we wanted to live with, what a difference!” ~The Nellessens
Ritz had been attacking other dogs including the ones he lived, and cats he lived with on a regular basis. I reflect back and he probably attacked somebody 2 or 3 times per week. I was really afraid that he would attack Chip and I wanted Chip to not be afraid of meeting new dogs. I also wanted Chip to learn to be appropriate with other dogs upon meeting. Joe had me do a lot of short, gradual positive sessions with Chip and Ritz. These included walking together on leashes, sitting close to each and one being in a crate and the other next to the crate. All of these were very rewarding to both dogs because they got treats when they were near each other and what dog doesn’t like treats! We started off at a distance and then moved them closer.
I also had Joe help me train Chip to do the agility obstacles and Joe was very creative and thorough in his teaching us. He even made several obstacles for Chip and I .It was wonderful because Joe always called to see how we were doing after a few days of us trying things on our own and encouraged me to call with any questions/setbacks whatever. He would then come over so we could show him what we had been doing( yes, Joe gave us a lot of homework) and then re teach me if necessary. Chip was and is a natural in my opinion.
Currently, Ritz and Chip can be outside together without incident and Ritz no longer attacks the other dogs or cats. He has become a certified therapy dog and passed the Canine Good Citizen test. He has relapses every now and then but they are getting farther and farther between. He now goes for months with any problems. Chip is the best one of my dogs(I have 5) to meet other dogs and he and I will be competing in agility trials this summer! Joe has made a tremendous impact on me and my dogs. He always listened to my concerns/ questions, always was objective and realistic in what I could accomplish with my dogs and what he could teach us. I admit that I had hoped Ritz would end up being great with other dogs but Joe told me that that would probably never be the case and I have come to accept that as fact. Joe is very easy to talk to and non-judgmental. He is willing to help in any way that he can and is honest. I think he is exceptional in explaining things so anyone can understand and he will clarify patiently if he needs to. Thank you Joe!

Our experience with Joe Blankenship
Number one very polite, and our Kids Peanut and Bandit love you. I think your biggest problem was us Mommy and Daddy.
I would certainly recommend you to anyone who asks.
